Pouring Love, Saving Lives
How AgaveLuz Supports Animal Welfare
At AgaveLuz, we believe in crafting more than just premium organic tequila—we’re committed to making a meaningful impact on animal welfare. Through our partnerships with organizations like Last Chance for Animals, Spay4LA, and the Humane Society’s Pets for Life program, every bottle of AgaveLuz contributes to a brighter future for animals in need.
This is not a vague promise – it’s a clear and direct support to a cause we deeply care about.
🐾 Our Founder’s Commitment
Pamela Maria De La Luz, the founder of AgaveLuz, has dedicated over 15 years to animal welfare initiatives. Her journey began with volunteering for the Humane Society’s Pets for Life program in Los Angeles, where she worked tirelessly to provide care for animals in underserved communities. Pamela’s passion led her to establish AgaveLuz as a brand that intertwines quality tequila with a mission of compassion.
AgaveLuz Organic Tequila Sponsors Last Chance for Animals Gala!
In November 2024, AgaveLuz proudly launched its U.S. debut at Last Chance for Animals’ (LCA) 40th Anniversary Gala, held at Paramount Studios. As a sponsor of this significant event, AgaveLuz underscored its commitment to animal rights and welfare. LCA, founded in 1984, has been instrumental in combating animal exploitation through education, investigations, and legislation. Notably, LCA played a pivotal role in the historic ban on the dog meat trade in South Korea, set to take effect by 2027. “Every bottle of AgaveLuz represents our mission: premium tequila with purpose, creating a safer future for animals,” says Pamela Maria De La Luz
🐕 Partnering with Spay4LA
On World Spay Day, AgaveLuz extended its support to Spay4LA, a non-profit mobile clinic offering low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping for pets in low-income areas of Los Angeles. This initiative aligns with our goal to curb pet overpopulation and ensure that financial constraints don’t hinder pet guardians from accessing essential veterinary care. “This contribution will directly support the spaying and neutering of hundreds of animals, reducing pet overpopulation” says Pamela Maria De La Luz
Why we partner with humane world for animals pets for life
Pamela Maria De La Luz, the founder of AgaveLuz, has a deep, personal connection to Humane World for Animals and the Pets for Life program. As a dedicated volunteer for over 15 years at Humane World for Animlas Pets for Life program in Los Angeles, Pamela has helped countless animals find safety and care. She has 13 pets (9 cats and 4 dogs) of her own and spends many evenings scouring neighborhoods to help stray cats get spayed and neutered. Her passion and commitment to animal welfare are at the heart of this partnership.
📊 Transparency and Impact
We believe in transparency and regularly update our community with stories, reports, and videos showcasing the impact of our contributions. Through our partnerships, we’ve:
- Supported LCA’s efforts in ending animal exploitation and celebrating milestones like the South Korea dog meat ban.
- Contributed to Spay4LA’s mission of providing accessible veterinary care in underserved communities.
- Aided the Pets for Life program in delivering vital services to keep pets healthy and with their families.
The Mission of Pets for Life
Humane World for Animals Pets for Life program in Los Angeles is dedicated to saving the lives of animals by providing essential services and resources to pets and their owners in underserved communities. PFL takes a comprehensive, long-term approach to addressing the inequity in and lack of access to pet resources people experience through door-to-door community outreach and pet owner support services.
By providing free veterinary care, supplies, services, and information to pet owners, the program builds trust and positive relationships within the communities that are served as opposed to staying on the periphery.
To address the systemic challenges people and pets living in poverty face, PFL focuses on three distinct but intersecting areas:
Direct Care: The PFL team provides free pet services and information to pet owners in the most underserved communities of Los Angeles and Philadelphia on a daily basis. These established core markets are also where PFL refines best practices and serves as training grounds for local organizations to learn how to implement PFL in their own communities, dramatically increasing collective impact.
- Training and Mentorship: A dedicated PFL mentorship team delivers in-depth guidance and support to local organizations around the country and to the veterinary community, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to take ownership over their own community outreach program. PFL emphasizes understanding the impact of systemic poverty on pet ownership, effective outreach strategies, and long-term program sustainability.
- Policy and Enforcement Reform: Acting as a catalyst for institutional solutions, PFL advances the national conversation among animal control, law enforcement, and policymakers on shifting from punitive approaches to more inclusive, support-based community engagement models. Driven by social justice, PFL addresses institutional discrimination and oppression that perpetuate the inequity far too many people experience.
Since its inception, Pets for Life has helped over 100,000 pets, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.
